This fun and unique Bakelite bead necklace is a smooth buttery yellow with white celluloid spacer beads. The center beads are faceted while the beads going up around the neck are barrel shaped beads that are carved at each end and in the middle. The necklace is 17 1/2" long overall. The center faceted bead is 21mm in diameter with the smallest beads measuring 12mm in diameter. The barrel beads are each 1" long and 3/8" in diameter. The original screw closure was made by cutting a barrel bead in half. The white celluloid spacers are perfect for the light bright look of this necklace. All parts of this lovely necklace are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratches to the Bakelite and no crumbling or flaking on the celluloid spacer beads. The screw clasp is in good working condition.

All Bakelite is tested using a variety of methods. These include Simichrome polish, hot water (smell test), tapping bangles together for the appropriate sound, and checking for mold lines and other discrepancies.
