Lovely vintage Lucite floral pin

* This lovely mid-century Lucite pin resembles a reverse carved brooch, but if you look closely you can see that the roses and leaves are actually embedded in the clear Lucite. This method was much easier and faster than actually carving a design into the back. The detailed pink roses and mossy green leaves have an iridescent quality and shimmer a little. The front of the brooch is larger than the back of the brooch, which allows the floral design to reflect around the edges. A nice piece of early 1960's Lucite jewelry, perfect for brightening up any day.

* This vintage pin measures 2" across and 1 3/8" tall in the front, and is 1 1/2" wide and 1" tall in the back. It is 1/4" thick.

* This nice little pin is in very good vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches to the Lucite. There are a couple of areas where it appears that a little too much glue was used to laminate the Lucite to the white plastic backing material, but these are barely noticeable and don't take away from the pin's appearance.

All Bakelite is tested using a variety of methods. These include Simichrome polish, hot water (smell test), tapping bangles together for the appropriate sound, and checking for mold lines and other discrepancies.
